McCully-Mō‘ili‘ili neighbors recently spent a Saturday morning in May spring cleaning their neighborhood. The T.A.G. Team (Totally Against Graffiti) gathered volunteers and sent them to targeted areas armed with paint brushes, paint rollers, and buckets of paint. Volunteers cleaned up bridges and freeway underpasses this time.
At the same time the T.A.G. Team was with their paint buckets and paint brushes, the Pride in Mō‘ili‘ili group with their weedwhackers, and shovels, and rakes, and brooms cleaning up Kaaha Street. Pride in Mō‘ili‘ili is a volunteer group that does monthly street cleanups in Mō‘ili‘ili.
We've heard more than a few neighbors subscribe to the so-called broken windows theory which suggests that signs of disorder, such as broken windows, graffiti and litter, can open the door to individuals breaking other social norms and rules. Let’s stop the graffiti in our McCully-Mō‘ili‘ili neighborhood. Join us for the next Totally Against Graffiti (T.A.G.) event in Fall 2011.
