Aloha, Our Sept. 27th clean up saw over 250 sign in and work in our community. Volunteers came from UH - Manoa; Chaminade University; 'Iolani Key Club; Kaimuki High; Washington Middle School; Kuhio Elementary School; Cub Scout Pack 181; Kamehameha Schools; Maryknoll Schools; Kapahulu - Moiliili Lions Club; Kalakaua Housing and many other places. HPD was awesome in checking in at volunteer sites throughout the day.
Food for volunteers was paid for by Old Town Moiliili Business Association and Councilmember-elect Duke Bainum. The highlight was a sheet cake donated by the Cake Works, brand new to our neighborhood. A bus to transport volunteers from site to site was donated by Ann Kobayashi.
Sites cleaned included ALL the bus stops in McCully and Moiliili; Ala Wai Community & Neighborhood Parks; Kalo Place Mini Park; Stadium Park; McCully Recreations Center and the temporary wall surrounding the Fire Station.
We will be announcing our Spring graffiti clean up soon.
