Hamakua Marsh
Nature Walk and
Entry Bridge Upgrade

Hamakua Nature Walk and pedestrian/ bike bridge over Kawainui Stream at Kailua Road and Hamakua Drive.

Building on the Hamakua Marsh restoration efforts of the State of Hawaii and local residents, this proposal seeks to enhance the pedestrian/cyclist experience and allow greater appreciation of this valuable environmental resource. Providing a pedestrian/bike path on one or both sides of the historic vehicular bridge would give pedestrians/ cyclists safe passage across the bridge and connection to a pedestrian/bike path along Kawainui Stream/ Hamakua Marsh, behind the buildings that face on Hamakua Drive. Safety for property owners,

business tenants, and pedestrians/ cyclists safe passage across the bridge and connection to a pedestrian/bike path along
Kawainui Stream/ Hamakua Marsh, behind the buildings that face on Hamakua Drive. Safety
